*bespoke* is a full-colour zine of 44 pages per issue.
If you would be interested in contributing to any of the following sections in *bespoke*, please e-mail me at submissions AT bespokezine.com
Submissions for Issue 8 are open!
Of course, if you have an idea that doesn’t fit any of the categories below – send it to me anyway!! You might have had a better idea than I ever have! And please don’t be hesitant or shy – bespoke will live or die depending on the number and quality of submissions from people just like you.
I cannot pay you for submissions – this is a tiny project, totally DIY by me – but I can offer you the chance to be in print, gain exposure, and be a lovely part of the *bespoke* family. Contributors (of written work, artwork, interviews or giveaways) will receive a free print copy of the zine (unfortunately, I am unable to provide a free copy to those who have a product featured at this time). It’s just like doing a blog guest post… but it gets printed!
Cover Art
I would like each issue to feature the art/photography of an independent Australian artist. If you have a piece you would like to submit for cover consideration, please get it touch. The theme for every cover is ‘girl in a dress’ - so start there and do your think! I do accept already-existent art, you do not need to do a custom piece.
Crafty Aunty Aggie
She’s your crafty agony aunt – if you have a thorny crafty question, send it in to her! aggieATbespokezine.com
General Handmade Bits and Pieces!
I’ll be doing a few spreads featuring little collections of handmade goodness – if you have a quality product with quality photos you’d be happy for me to publish in the Zine, get in touch!
Giveaway
If you have an item/items you’d like to offer for a giveaway, please get in touch!
Art
Any artist or photographer who would like to submit a piece of their work for publication. This does not need to be exlusive to the Zine – it can be published elsewhere. I need a 300dpi jpg, full colour submission please.
Cherish
A photo and story from someone about a handmade item they cherish – the story behind the item, and why it is special to them. Must include a photo of the person and the item.
Social Essay
An essay about how craft has impacted a life or a community, or even a charity.
Business Essay
An essay about the business of crafting for a living – either an aspect of it, or your own story…
Craft Tutorial
Something written by you, with photos by you – previously unpublished. Preferably something fun and a little funky that pretty much anyone could have a go at!
Artist/Crafter Feature
I’m looking for at least two of these. I will send you interview questions to answer. A requirement is that you send me a quality photograph of you (preferably situated in your studio/doing your craft), and your creative space – and of course a few photos of your craft!
Media Kits and Product Samples
If you would like to send a media kit via e-mail or mail (or you would like to send in product samples for review and possible inclusion in the zine or blog) the contact details are:
E-mail - jess@bespokezine.com
Address - Jessica Van Den, PO Box 472, Caboolture, QLD, 4510, Australia
Please note that media kits and samples are non-returnable, and by sending them in, you are not guaranteed blog or zine coverage.
Advertising
Just like a regular magazine or blog, I am including a small amount of advertising to offset costs a little and allow me to sell the zine for a little less than I would otherwise. The rates will never be this cheap again, as this is the first run. *bespoke* will be A5 size. You will also be linked to on the Supporters zine page as a sponsor for 6 months from the date of publication.
The zine is 44 pages long. The next print run is 1,000 copies.
There are 5 pages available in total. You have 4 options.
1/8 page
1/4 page
1/2 page
1 whole page
Advertisers will be chosen on: a first-come-first-served basis; by appropriateness of ad content; and by design/aesthetics.

I’d love to submit my work for consideration, but can’t seem to see the e-mail address to do so. Help!
Kasey
Hi Kasey – it’s right up the top there – submissions AT bespokezine.com
Are you accepting submissions only from Australians ? or International ?
International!
Hi. Are you currently making payment for submissions? Thanks for the detailed guidance above, it is very helpful. Regards, Alison
Hi Alison,
I’m not paying for submissions at this time – but all contributors get a free copy of the zine. Thanks for your interest!
hi I love your publication it is so refreshing. Not sure if this is the right spot for feedback but I don’t use facebook. I have one thing I would like to bring to your attention. I am in my 50′s and find the Sweet Talk part very hard to read as there is not enough contrast between the background colour and the text, borrowing my husbands glasses doesn’t help. Would it be possible to make the text darker.Thanks. Keep up the great work.Hilary
Thanks for your feedback Hilary! I’ll pass your suggestion on to our graphic designer xx
