Who are you?

My name is Jennifer Henderson & I am the Head Kiddo (Or Creative Director if you prefer the more adult vocabulary!) at Love JK.

What do you do?

I design and create boutique, bespoke and beautiful products for kids. Ranging from pretty paper goods like greeting cards and fill-in invitations to cuddly cushions and softies, I also have a personalised range of wall art, fabric bunting & party invitations.The entire range is made in Melbourne where I’m proud to work with craftspeople and suppliers who share my environmental and ethical beliefs. I use high quality paper which has been sourced from certified, responsibly managed sustainable forests for the stationery and wall art. The toy stuffing is made from natural corn-fibre and the fabrics are printed using water based, non-solvent inks.

What makes you happy?

Wonderful, inspiring and funny people: I’m lucky to have a gorgeous husband, a truly great family and some lovely friends, who I adore.
Creating…anything: I love making something from nothing, whether it’s taking a blank piece of paper and drawing a picture, or taking a whole pile of ingredients and making something yummy, I just love to create.
Being inspired: There are some amazing people out there creating and doing incredible things, and seeing/hearing these people makes me happy, full of inspiration and hope.
My work: I say it’s my work, but it really doesn’t feel much like it (unless I’m doing admin…) I feel so lucky to be following my dream and creating my own products. I love sitting in my studio designing, listening to great music (and when no one is around, I sing loudly and badly!)
And lastly, travel makes me so happy. I’ve spent my life traveling, and have been lucky enough to live in Canada & America when I was a kid and more recently in London & Zürich with my husband. I’ve been to some amazing places, seen the best & worst of humanity and returned to set up our life again in Australia feeling very lucky to have been born here! I think traveling helps to put everything in your life in perspective.
